Job summary

Liferay has been growing across EU, and the Liferay Design team needs to keep up with the growth to accommodate. We are looking for a self-motivated designer who would be responsible for the conceptualization and design of graphic applications and seeing them through to completion. You will be working with our local designer as well as the rest of our Design Team located at HQ in California.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

In accordance with EU Marketing and Regional Marketing plans:

  • Protect the Liferay brand by ensuring consistent corporate identity in all public-facing communications, together with the Design Team and the Europe Marketing Manager
  • Satisfy Liferay’s design needs for various worldwide markets
  • Develop new concepts for projects
  • Be self-managed: Set personal deadlines for multiple projects at a time
  • Be proactive: Initiate discussions and projects
  • Communicate ideas, critiques, concerns, questions and problems effectively to team members and clients

Integrated Lead-Generation Campaigns:

  • Contribute to the creative and brainstorming process of campaign development
  • Develop graphic design concepts and mock-ups for integrated marketing campaigns, landing pages, websites, conference booths and printed collateral

Design Trends, Training:

  • Actively research and stay informed about current design trends, concepts and new software


  • Support of other projects not listed above
  • Capacity and willingness to travel

Job qualifications

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Must speak German & English fluently
  • College degree in Graphic Design and 3-4 years professional experience, preferred
  • Experience in taking a project from concept phase to production
  • Experience in working with printers/vendors
  • Professional knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop 
  • Working knowledge of Adobe AfterEffects, Premiere, a plus
  • HTML and CSS, a plus
  • Experience with motion graphics/video editing, a plus
  • Videography skills, a plus
